Answered a critical business question for a value-based care provider: Do proactive patient outreach programs pay for themselves? By modeling data from systems like Snowflake and Salesforce, this analysis demonstrated that a targeted intervention program not only improved patient health (fewer hospitalizations) but also delivered a significant financial return of $1.2 million. This project provides a clear, data-driven case for investing in preventative care.
Proactive Healthcare with Predictive Analytics
To address the dual challenge of member health and financial performance tied to medication adherence, I developed a predictive analytics model using Python to analyze data from Salesforce and medical/pharmacy claims. This model proactively identifies members at high risk of missing refills for critical conditions like diabetes, hypertension, and high cholesterol, generating a prioritized outreach list that enables our clinical teams to deliver targeted support precisely when it's needed most. The initiative was a major success, driving a 7-percentage-point increase in adherence, elevating our CMS Star Rating from 3 to 4 stars, and securing an estimated $15 million in annual bonus revenue, proving the powerful link between proactive data science and tangible business outcomes.
Medication Refill Protocol Tool
Developed a web application to streamline the VillageMD medication refill protocol. This tool empowers administrative staff to efficiently and accurately approve or deny routine refills by automating the protocol's strict decision-making criteria, reducing processing time and ensuring compliance.
Streamlit Med Adherence Dashboard
This project is an interactive web application designed to tackle the critical issue of medication non-adherence. Using Python, Streamlit, and Plotly, I built a dashboard that connects directly to a Google BigQuery database to provide a near real-time view of adherence metrics. Key features include interactive filtering by market, payer, and time, as well as visualizations of Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) like Proportion of Days Covered (PDC) and month-over-month trend analysis against CMS Star Rating thresholds. The goal is to empower users to identify and close gaps in care effectively.
Automated Worklist Analysis & Reporting Pipeline
This Python script is the engine of a fully automated reporting pipeline for weekly medical adherence worklists that saves about 5 hours of manual work each week. It processes raw data from Excel files to generate detailed reports featuring pivot tables and visualizations. A key analytical feature is the week-over-week comparison that tracks new and resolved escalations. The process is fully automated from start to finish: once the script creates the reports, a Power Automate flow takes over to distribute them. The flow intelligently reads the file's market and date, emails the report to the corresponding stakeholders, and archives it in the correct SharePoint folder. This system eliminates manual work in data analysis, reporting, and distribution.
